Description
Katana (long sword blade) with sabre mounting.
Blade: made of steel, signed and inscribed.
Sheath: fittings of gilt copper alloy with chrysanthemum blossoms in high relief, made of polished ray skin.
Hilt: fittings of gilt copper alloy with chrysanthemum blossoms in high relief; silver triple-hollyhock leaf crest (mon) of Tokugawa family applied to back of hilt strap; made of ray skin with textile strap; marked.
 
The blade was produced in August of 1913 in Japan. It is made of steel, copper alloys, gold, ray skin and textile.
